Tara Ann Tuchon, 24, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Denver, Colo., on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint, Idaho with Charley Packard officiating.
Tara was born June 18, 1985, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to Lloyd and Jeannie Tuchon. She grew up and attended schools in Sandpoint, Idaho, including Farmin Elementary, Sandpoint Middle School, and Sandpoint High School where she graduated in 2003. During school Tara was active in the award-winning elite choir and was selected to the All State Choir as a junior.
She went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies with a minor in French from the University of Denver, graduating in 2008. During college, she studied abroad for a semester in France. Last winter she worked at Schweitzer Mountain Resort in accounting, and this summer she worked for Sunward Industries in Denver.
She enjoyed motorcycles, photography, music, singing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her philosophy was, “live, laugh, love.”
In a college recommendation letter, written a few years ago, SHS English teacher Marianne Love wrote, “Tara continually produced outstanding academic work, showed unusual talent in music and was a reliable, valued employee. We will all benefit from her energy, her sense of integrity and her unselfish contributions.”
She is survived by her father Lloyd Tuchon of Perry, GA; sister Amanda Tuchon, Post Falls, ID; brother Lloyd Hammack, Sandpoint, ID; sister Fatima Ibrahim, New Jersey; grandparents Linda Florea, Sandpoint, Pamela Bliven, Boise, ID, and Lloyd Tuchon, Jr., Brandon, FL.
