Les H. Hartford, 76, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Sandpoint, Idaho. At his request no services will be held.
Les was born on July 17, 1933 in Lewistown, Montana to Victor and Zelda Hartford. He grew up and attended schools in Lewistown. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954, part of which he was stationed in Germany. He worked for a period of time as a meat cutter for Safeway in Malta, MT, and later owned Strictly Custom Meat Cutting and Sanitary Disposal Service, both in Lewistown.
Les married Luana Roane on Sept. 4th 1955 in Lewistown, they were later divorced. He moved to Sandpoint in 1994.
In Montana he was a member of the American Legion, Moose, Elks, and Eagles Lodges. He was also a past president of the Montana Private Pilot’s Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and flying.
He is survived by one son Bryce (Gail) Hartford of North Bend, WA, one daughter Kerri McKeen of Missoula, MT, four grandsons Tyler, Gary, Kyle, and Erik, one great grand daughter Jani Rose Marie, two brothers Russ (Judy) Hartford of Kalispell and Tom (Cathy) Hartford of Lewistown, and special friend Bealuh of Sandpoint.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eldest son Vance.
