Dear Karen, Brooke, Don, Ronny, Judy and Danny. We are so sorry that Gary went home before we wanted him to. Gary was and is one of my oldest and dearest friends. These past six months we reunited again and got to spend precious time with him and Karen. It was truly awesome to be able to bond again not only as old friends but as brothers in the Lord. The scripture says in 2 Cor 5:8 "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". I am confident he is jumping for joy in his new body, free from the limitations of his old one. My prayer for you all is to have this same confidence and the peace that comes from being "born again" by the Spirit of God. God bless you all and I hope to see you again. Our hearts go out to Karen and Brooke. I will always treasure the times we spent at our daughter's Volleyball games together. I will always remember his infectious smile.I have met few folks in my life as warm and genuine as Gary. He placed his family above everything. One always felt better after just being around him. He definitely left the world a better place than he found it. We are comforted to know he was strong in his faith, and that he is home.

He was always a man of his word and believed in putting more on the table of life than he intended to take off. There is only one good thing I've felt since I heard of Gary's passing and that is that Gary is a Christian and is now with our Lord. My heart is stunned and broken today. My love and my heartfelt prayers for Karen & Brook and all of Gary's family are lined with tears and so much sadness. I hadn't spoken to Gary in 10-years but I always felt we would just pick up the conversation where we left off last time. Gary, I miss you now more than ever. Save a place in heaven for us (maybe by a stream) where we will feel no more pain and there will be everlasting peace and love. God bless you my dear friend.

Gary was my neighbor in Allied Gardens(San Diego) and also was my teammate at Crawford High School. I remember cruising to the beach in Gary's white Ford Pinto and surfing and playing volleyball. Gary could also throw a mean fastball and had a great curve too. I haven't seen Gary in a long time and am saddened to read that he has passed.
